About John Roper

John Roper is a native of Nashville and a graduate of Father Ryan High School and the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a major in real estate and a minor in finance. He also holds the Graduate of the REALTORS® Institute (GRI) and Certified Florida Evaluator (CFE) designations.

Before relocating to Florida, John worked as a commercial real estate appraiser and broker with Rowland & Associates and as a commercial mortgage banker with Provident Trust Company. He moved to Orlando in 1980, where he served as a commercial appraiser and auditor for the Florida Department of Revenue. John later joined the New York-based Helmsley Organization, where he served as Vice President of Helmsley-Spear of Florida, Inc., overseeing operations in both Orlando and Miami.

For more than 35 years, John has operated his own commercial real estate brokerage in Florida. He holds broker licenses in both Florida and Tennessee and has brokered, leased, and managed hundreds of millions of dollars in commercial real estate for a wide range of clients, from individuals to institutional owners.

John is a longtime member of the Kiwanis Club of Orlando, where he served two terms as president and held multiple terms on the foundation board. He is also a Legion of Honor recipient. In addition, he has served as president of several office and homeowners associations.

Recently, John and his wife Polly relocated to Chattanooga, Polly’s hometown. She is one of six siblings of the late John H. Bonner, who served as pastor of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church for over 30 years.

John is excited to build new relationships and contribute his experience to the commercial real estate team at Real Estate Partners Chattanooga LLC.
